BRAINY Artistic Literacy Museum Tours
I was in this class in Spring 2020, and it was taught by Claire Chien. This class focused on visual literacy at the middle and high school levels, and also discussed museums and technology in the art classroom. Due to COVID-19, it also spun into a tech-based teaching course, discussing problem solving and digital courses.
As part of this class, we participated in the BRAINY program as created by the Gregory Allicar Museum of Art. BRAINY stands for "Bringing Arts Integration to Youth. Participating elementary schools brought their fourth graders on a field trip to the arts center of campus, for the students to experience dance, music, theatre, and art. Due to COVID-19, my peers and I weren't able to lead tours more than twice (our tour and then the family day). To the left, I am explaining Luigi Russolo's Intonatore di Rumori (Stropicciatore Medio) to the students in the Gregory Allicar Museum of Art's Circle Et Carre exhibit. |
