Standard 4 - Teachers demonstrate professionalism through ethical conduct, reflection, and leadership.
|
During our semester, we learned and did a lot. Professionalism relates to all the aspects stated above, and as such, a reflection of performance is needed to understand the progress needed from that point. You must know where you have been before you know where you are going. I provided evidence for the reflection as well, supporting my claims of where I met standards. This relates to element C, responding to the complex dynamic environment of teaching to improve.

Since COVID-19 interrupted the in-school opportunities, my peers and I were asked to finish our reflections of the semester early. Before schools closed, I was able to attend Student-teacher conferences, and so I reflected on those here. This evidence is a relation to both reflection and ethical conduct, as well as Element B for linking professional growth to my professional goals.

I believe I am proficient at this standard. Ethical conduct and reflection are aspects I am confident on, but my leadership could use fine tuning. I have co-taught so much that I now need practice teaching alone, which I got to grow in this semester as well. The students responded well to me however, so I am confident that I can inspire growth in my future students.
